Biography
An accomplished lawyer with 15 years of experience, Scot's principal area of practice involves commercial real estate transactions, including real estate aspects of energy, project development and project finance transactions. His experience includes representing publicly traded corporations in mergers and acquisitions and development partnerships in large scale projects. Prior to joining the firm in December 2006, Scot was a partner in the Houston office of an AmLaw 100 firm.

  • Represented two of the largest private equity funds as assistant real estate counsel in their $45 billion acquisition of a large U.S. integrated utility company that owns 18 power plants and five lignite mines, particularly real estate title issues in connection with the acquisition.
  • Represented an energy company in ground leases of sites for additional generating facilities and related easement rights inside the fence of existing power plants
  • Represented publicly traded restaurant company in sale of one of its operating concepts (over 120 locations)
